 Welcome to Year 2

Welcome to the Year 2 page. The Year 2 staff are:

Mrs Johnson (Monday - Tuesday) and Mrs Blackbourn (Wednesday - Friday)

We are supported by Mrs Owen, Mrs Burchnall and Mrs Banks.

Learning in Year 2

We believe that children learn better when they link their ideas and learning together across different subjects. We have overall themes each term to help them with this and most areas of the curriculum are incorporated into this main theme. Please take time to look through other tabs within this Year 2 page as we have made links to useful sites to help your child to develop their skills and understanding for our curriculum.

We appreciate the support that you as parents give us in many ways such as helping children with their homework tasks or coming into school to help. We want your child to be content in school and reach their full potential so please do not hesitate to come and see us if there is anything you wish to speak to us about.

Please enjoy exploring the links we have included to support our curriculum.

Learning about Nocturnal Animals in Term 4

This term we are learning about Nocturnal Animals. We are finding out about:

  •  The different animals that come out at night
  •  What they eat: predators and prey

  •  How they find their food
  •  How they are suited to living at night (adaptations)

We were very pleased to have Mr and Mrs Faulkner coming to school on Monday 5th March to speak to us about bats. He brought some of the rescued bats for children to see up close.
