Term 6 News

Term 6 is a busy term in Year 2; we have plenty of activities for the children to look forward to relating to our Dinosaur Park theme.

These are some of the important dates you should know about:

  • Week beginning 19th June - Arts Week

This is a whole school themed week. In Year 2 we have a felt-making artist who will come to work with the children to create a masterpiece linked to our Year 2 theme work this year.

  • 28th June - Dinosaur Vehicle Day

Children are going to design and make a vehicle for the Dinosaur Park. On this day, we would like to welcome adult helpers to come in and help children to make axles for their vehicles. More information will follow soon, but if you are able to help for any amount of time on this day, we would be very grateful.

  • 7th July - Dino Lunch Day

Children are going to design a special Dinosaur Themed lunch for themselves for this day and then prepare these lunches to eat. You will not need to order a hot school meal for this day.

5th June 2017 - Visit to Spalding Grammar and High School

Today year 4 went to Secondary school.  The girls went by bus to Spalding High school to enjoy a morning of Food technology and Art and the boys walked to the Grammar to take part in Science and Computing lessons.

The girls made museli bars and then were able to participate in some free flow art to music.  It was very messy, with painting on tables, chairs and some on each other but everyone enjoyed themselves.

The boys took part in a colourful chemistry lesson with a variety of chemicals and then moved on to some computing programming.  They all loved dressing in scientific lab coats and goggles to become chemists for the morning.

A great morning was had by all!
